Visit from an artist!

Chas' dad (Stephen Colbert) shared his passion for drawing with us.
He used a toy turtle as a model to "break-down" the different shapes to draw.

P.M. Wonderland

We are always encouraging and making opportunities for the children to enjoy writing, but we recently made Thursdays our free writing day.  We set time aside to introduce the children to different writing crafts and invite them to try them out on their own.

The Incredibles
If you look close enough, the children made signs letting you know which of the "Incredible" super heros they are.

Carter and our new friend (Leo) follow step by step instructions to build their structure.

We brought snow into class, but it didn't last long.  The highlight of this activity was adding color to the snow using squirt bottles.

We added a kitchen to our dramatic play area.  This is extending the play that is happening in our Grocery Store.

A.M. Wonderland

Sarah Jane, Audrey and Michael are coming up with words that rhyme to add to our poem.

Michael is adding to our sorting project.  In our small groups we sorted items from our grocery store into categories to help make it easier to find what we need.  Some of our categories have included sugar, breakfast, drinks, meat, vegetables and snacks.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to Jameson's family.  The children love all the new dress up clothes.  They have been busy making crowns and pom poms to add to their play.
(Eden, Audrey, Marley, Harper and Lydia)

We were lucky that there was a little snow left to bring in on Monday.  Lindsey, Sam, Audrey and Dante braved cold hands and had a little fun.

Miss Kim, Cooper and Rebecca enjoy a new game in class.  (Zingo-a twist on a favorite-Bingo)

This week...

This semester, Honalee and Roxaboxen welcomes three student teachers Laura, Tiffany and Tae'lor.

Welcome back!

We came back to a different looking room, new friends (Liam and Hannah) and with stories to tell!

We tried a community marble painting!
Ms. Emily has also been doing experiments with ice and we put ice in the sensory table.

In Spanish, Senora Steelman read The Three Little Tamales (a version of the three little pigs story) and we made our own corn husk characters.

Welcome Back from A.M. Wonderland

Our new friend Cooper and Lindsey finished a new puzzle we have in class.

The boys are once again building like crazy in class.  We recently brought back the big blocks and they are a big hit.

Nathan is making repairs to the block structure.

Sam L., Cooper and Ethan playing with the jungle Ms. Melissa's son is letting us borrow.

Dante and August work together to put together the Thomas puzzle.

The girls, including our new friend Kayley are making lunch after stopping by the grocery store in the dramatic play area.
